Couples and Marriage Counseling

Relationships can be challenging. Even when there is deep love between partners, difficulties can still arise. Sometimes things begin to feel “off,” but it’s hard to identify exactly what is wrong or how to address it. Over time, small hurts can build, leading to distance, frustration, and loneliness.

Couples therapy can provide a supportive space to work through these challenges, rebuild connection, and strengthen your relationship. Research shows that couples who seek support early, when concerns first arise, often have a greater chance of resolving issues and preventing unhelpful patterns from becoming more deeply entrenched. Even in relationships with longer-standing difficulties, evidence-based approaches can help reduce conflict, repair emotional wounds, and restore connection.

As a marriage and couples therapist, I have worked with partners at all stages of their relationship. Therapy can help you and your partner move toward greater understanding, closeness, and stability.

Common concerns in couples counseling include:

  • Loss of intimacy

  • Feeling stuck or disconnected in the relationship

  • Feeling misunderstood by your partner

  • Frequent or ongoing conflict

  • Uncertainty about the future of the relationship

  • Loss of shared hopes or direction

  • Unresolved anger, hurt, or guilt

  • Insecurity or uncertainty about your partner’s feelings

Couples therapy offers a supportive space to slow things down, improve communication, and work toward rebuilding trust and connection in a way that feels safe and intentional for both partners.

What will couples therapy be like?

Couples Therapy is an opportunity to work through issues together so that you can constructively navigate and resolve problems while gaining a deeper understanding of each other, and rekindling the feelings of being loved, supported, and understood by your significant other. Through the use of research-based practices, I can help you to ease the pain of the current problems and begin to see each other again as you once did. As your marriage counselor, I will help you to identify and express the feelings you've been wishing or attempting to convey to your partner.  Marriage counseling will also support you so that you can begin to understand your partner in a new way that allows for healing and reconnection. Marriage counseling will help you develop both individually and as a couple.
